Large Stuff
Some larger and collaborative projects I have worked on.
"Pause" 2023 Langara Fine Arts and InTransit Collaborative Public Arts Class
Working as a class of about 10, and under the direction of Devon Knowles and Will Morrison we brought a project from concept to installation at Langara College and the Langara 49th train station.
"Tidal" Public Art Project from 2021, Install 2022
Because of COVID this project was unfinished, and I had the privilege and honour as a student tech of finishing and preparing for install, directed under Devon Knowles.
Very exciting watching the install! This is June 2022
The pieces were already plasma cut for me- I just had to grind, sand, prep and prime them for painting and paint them all. Here I am priming some of the salmon.
More sanding and priming.
The Cloud 2022
This was my own public art project, which was installed in 2021, and left up until 2022 post grad.
It was made of steel, concrete, foam, and spray paint.
Install and tagging with classmates.
me and the cloud
Infrastructure: plasma cut steel sheeting, rebar stakes to stick through the foam mig welded on.
Its' very long legs. It was over 10 feet high total.
Stuts for support
me concreting the foam substructure.
Have kiln- will travel! I built a little raku kiln and have taken it to firings around the city with other curious potters and artist. Lots of fun in the community.
A firing at the artists lodge on main street with my friend Ilena-Lee.
A hot-shot of the firing!
"it doesn't have to be this way" 2024 Ceramic, Concrete, Wood 48" x 48" x 6"
close up of mosaic panels
photoshop of install places. I imagined these words around the city, creating space to pause and ask ourselves what the hell are we doing and why, and how did it become this way?
I wanted to imagine a world and place where people realized they could get off the ride they created and sustained at any time.
